St. John XXIII Hospital Aber has welcomed a new cohort of medical and pharmacy interns assigned by the Ministry of Health. The group began reporting on August 20, 2026, for a one-year clinical internship, starting with an orientation program to introduce them to facility standards and operations.
Ten interns have arrived so far, including medical officers and pharmacists, with more expected soon. During their rotations, the interns will develop practical skills under experienced staff while supporting healthcare delivery at the hospital.
St. John XXIII Hospital Aber is pleased to welcome a new cohort of medical and pharmacy interns posted to the facility by the Ministry of Health, Uganda.
The interns began reporting to the hospital on 20 August 2026, marking the beginning of their one-year clinical internship journey at St. John XXIII Hospital Aber.
So far, 10 interns have reported to the facility, comprising eight Medical Officer Interns and two Pharmacist Interns. The hospital is still expecting the remaining interns to report and join the programme in the coming days.
The newly arrived interns have been warmly received and taken through an orientation programme to familiarize them with the hospital, its departments, teams and way of working. The orientation has provided an opportunity for the interns to meet hospital leadership, supervisors and staff while gaining a better understanding of the professional standards and expectations of the facility.
As they begin their clinical rotations, the interns will have the opportunity to strengthen their practical skills, learn from experienced healthcare professionals and contribute to the delivery of quality healthcare services to patients and the surrounding community.
